Within our charity Bellbirds we currently have in excess of 30 members, each with very different skills and circumstances and each who has joined for their own particular reason. Belonging to Bellbirds means something different for each individual. We do all have at least ONE thing in common and that is we are all volunteers - here to support each other to help disadvantaged children on the Central Coast. Plus we have a lot of fun along the way!

While we are a small group of volunteers, through our fundraising program, the hard work of our members who give generously with their available time, and the commitment of our Bellbird Champions and supporters, we are able to make a BIG difference in the lives of Central Coast children and their families who find themselves in need.

If you too, would like to make a difference, consider becoming a Bellbird member. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month from February to November (breaking over the summer holiday period). Our meetings start at 6pm at the Terrigal Bowling Club and typically run for a couple of hours after which members have dinner together in the Club. Why don’t you come along and check us out, we are a friendly bunch!

Bellbirds was formed in 1976 by a few local Mothers who met through their young children at Terrigal Public School, which backs onto Bellbird Avenue, hence the name of our charity.
These young Mums continued to meet on an informal basis to raise money for children of less fortunate local families. The purpose of Bellbirds was born; their legacy lives on today, and with your help, into the future.

The Bellbird Committee is a Not-for-profit charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Our members do not receive any form of payment or any government funding.

Bellbirds have been able to provide a wide range of assistance providing items such as medical support not covered by NDIS and other channels, specialised equipment, items to assist carers in their day to day care of the child, care packages and much more. Being able to give a hand to children in need makes such a difference and is so appreciated by the recipients.

Bellbird Champions

Bellbirds applaud our Champions who, through their generous donations and support enable us to continue making a difference in the lives of children who are in need of our help.
Our Champions are:

  • The Wyong Roos Foundation and their wonderfully supportive team: for their generous donations and use of facilities at their various venues for events.

  • Dynamic Taxation and Training Services (DTTS). A big shout out to Linda Holton and her team for handling our accounting on a pro bono basis. Thank you.

  • Bowles & Co, in particular Emily Hodgson, for developing our new brand and website.

  • Kwik Kopy Gosford. Our thanks to Peter Clarke and his crew, our print partner.

  • Terrigal Bowling Club for the use of their facilities for our monthly meeting venue.

Bellbirds particularly wish to thank the Wyong Rugby League Club Group who, through their Wyong Roos Foundation, have donated $25,000 over the last two years to Bellbirds. Every cent of this money has gone to helping disadvantaged children and their families on the Central Coast. Bellbirds wish to acknowledge and thank the Wyong Roos for their amazing generosity. To find out more about the Wyong Roos Foundation click here.

Our Fundraising

Typically, we raise around $50,000 per annum through holding a variety of fundraising events on the Central Coast. These functions include Bare Foot Bowls, Dinner Dances, Trivia and Movie Nights, Race Day excitement, Fashion Parades and many more enjoyable occasions. It is with the support of our hard working members and wonderful community attending our functions, together with the generous donations and assistance of our Bellbird Champions and supporters, that enables Bellbirds to continue the legacy of caring which began in 1976 with those few caring women who looked out for those in need.
